Two days to 2021 – and a better start

The holiday season allows your mind and body time to slow down

To unwind and really enjoy some much-needed rest after a hustle and bustle year. And now with two days to 20121 – a better start might be what’s on your mind?

I personally preach doing whatever it is you need to do, and without a guilty conscious. I do, however, think that the lifestyle you lead shouldn’t be something that you need to take breaks from. BUT alas the festive season is a time for you to relax and give into your mind and body’s needs. No pressure to keep performing, no pressure to keep up appearances and generally loving life without fear or hesitation.

And again, isn’t this what every day should look like you might ask?

Yes, I do think balance is what is necessary, so here are some tips for you to ponder on.

I know the next few weeks become a struggle. Trying to find footing again in society and routines as another year takes its course. It is time to leave behind the extremes and self-punishment and simply implement steps to a better way forward. And of course into the New Year:

Plan ahead

You don’t need to plan what your life will look like in June 2021. Because if this year has taught us anything it is that planning is so last year! What I mean by planning here is finding yourself the best way to keep healthy in 2021. Could this mean meal prepping? Could this mean finding a coach? Cleaning out your cupboards and using those gifted recipe books to set yourself up for success? Maybe it means setting up a home gym because you are not going back to that uncomfortable gym you joined previously.

Whatever it looks like now is the time to plan it out and get on it. Make sure whatever it is you actually are excited about it!

Fit it in

In your above planning, find out how you will most prefer to add in some of the foods and fun activities you have over the festive season. Things that do not feature on a weekly basis in your life. Everyone is allowed some wiggle room for fun food. And everyone can prioritize time in order to fit in more of the freeing activities am I right?

Centre yourself more

If holidays with family teach us anything it is often that patience is so easily tested. Emotions can surface at any point and that self-management really is key. As I always preach, start your year finding ways you can better handle stress and emotions. Also find ways to release what needs releasing. Find a yoga studio to join, a breath-work class to be a part of and make sure every single day of 2021 feels more manageable and at ease.

You know first and foremost what you feel inside.

Here is to an amazing year for all of you lovely people, I know 2021 can bring you all the great things you desire.
