6 pack for summer – after lockdown

Imagine this…

Lockdown ends, you start wearing your favourite clothes again and realize your body isn’t quite where you had hopped it might be. No 6 pack for summer ladies? Clothes might feel tighter, your body moves a little slower and you just don’t feel as confident as you used to.

Lockdown has been tough on all of us, more time locked up indoors and less time spent moving our bodies.

Gyms have been closed and your ideal fitness training with weights and all sorts of cardio equipment has been non-existent. In fact, maybe you miss that boxing class or pilates class. That spin class which kept your body and mind in shape.

This may have all put your motivation on a lockdown too! In fact, I know it has. That 6 pack for summer was put on the back burner. Not really knowing when you can plan the next holiday or when you can get your butt in the gym and down to your local club. Its really meant that your mindset has fallen into a trap of what ifs. What if it is months from now before you can plan to sit on the beach. What if it’s a year or more before you can go on that overseas holiday or plan your wedding.

I can tell you that this vicious cycle of what ifs and fears around the unknown have not served your health and body in any positive way!

Imagine feeling great in your skin daily, feeling confident knowing you have done your best to take care of YOU while the world is in chaos.

This may not have been the right message at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. But I do believe that now so many of us are ready to let go of these painful thoughts and uncertainty around the pandemic. I am sure you are ready to get back to being your best and beastly self when it comes to health and fitness.

You can do it! and these are my top tips to getting your butt and abs whipped into ….

1- Get moving again!

Home workouts? Take it up a notch! Spend less time resting, spend more time under tension (slower moves, pulsing etc.), and keep consistent. Do at home HIIT workouts if it isn’t safe for you to run outdoors. And keep your motivation high by pumping your favorite music. Or using some form of non-food reward to keep you focused.

2- Get your nutrition on track.

All those movie days under the blankets in winter, all the hot chocolate and cake days and basically disregarding our diets is over! Chips and emails, sweets and midnight snacks are not so fun anymore am I right? Leave the processed sugary stuff behind and start adding in more vegetables.


Are you avoiding water, it is cold outside, and the inactivity may mean you don’t want to but start and you will see how badly your body wants it!

It is honestly this simple :/ I’m sorry if you were expecting more! There is no quick fix to getting a 6 pack for summer! Just get back into great healthy habits
