Choosing the best coach for you

I have come across so many articles recently with this as the exact topic.

From blog posts, to magazine articles to even podcasts! I didn’t place much importance on it and thought everyone was just riding off writing based on other hot topics in the industry. In fact, this was before the New Year, before I even thought people would be searching for a coach to work with them into 2020!

When I took a step back and looked a little deeper, I realized I was avoiding getting into this topic specifically because I myself am a coach. Reading these articles or giving into the buzz might mean I would have to look a little deeper at myself and at how I am showing up for my clients.

Scary thought for sure, would I find out what I am missing? What I am bad at? Well I decided to change that chain of thought and rather look at it in terms of in what ways might I be winning. In what ways may I be able to level up for my awesome clients. Afterall, this is 2020! A year for us to all take the lead in our lives, make sure we are surrounded by the best people who will launch us forward and to not hide away from our greatness.

So as you may have guessed, this blog post is about choosing the best coach and knowing that this coach will get you to where you want to be. I know so many people who are taking it upon themselves to up their game for 2020, whether that be business, fitness or other! Contained herein will be your mechanism for navigating choosing a coach.

As a coach, we should:

Keep you accountable

Give you clarity in order to create a clear path to success

Refocus you when need be, on the most vital points that shift your needle

Challenge you and give you an edge

Questions to ask when signing up with a coach:

-Do they have experience in this area, whether it be studies, work or just time spent in this arena
-Are they relevant to what you want to achieve? You wouldn’t hire a business coach to get you into a bodybuilding competition!
-Were they recommended to you? Find out the finer details like how the coaching and payment plans work
-Have they had success in this field themselves?
-Do their values and beliefs resonate with yours?

Seems a little simple, but when you look into it this really is important. I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the year and good luck with excelling and growing into your future with your new coach.
