How to find control in the chaos

While we approach Christmas carol season..

Yes before you know it the malls will be putting up trees and playing carols! Life seems to be a little more all over the place as we try to tie up lose ends. And aim to feel like the year has been a successful and productive one. Is it possible to find control in the chaos?

This is a relevant part of my life right now. In fact, I had a very wonderful lady say to me that while all other things seem chaotic in your life it is so necessary to have at least one area under control. That is an area that you can have control over such as your lifestyle.

What are those few things you can do to hold yourself to your fitness and heath goals you had for yourself? How can you ensure to keep some control on the most important part, wellness, while all else seems a little lost?

I wanted to share some of the tips and tricks I used during a short prep to the stage while everything around me felt like it was falling apart. Anything really is possible if you put your mind to it, and it can be so amazing having something in your life that you CAN control and maintain a level head about. It makes all else seem completely manageable.

You have got this girl! Now onto some tips:

Keep a journal.

This could be a journal of training days, macros, daily steps or calorie intake. Use this as your way of knowing that by the end of the day you must answer to yourself whether you met the goals you had for yourself. The next morning I can guarantee you won’t want to let yourself down again and you will make sure you do something about it. This may even be a way to record your emotions, challenges and any setbacks you had. It will make you a stronger more
determined person.

In the evenings start to unpack the previous days gym bag or food bag and repack it before you even allow yourself downtime. If you put it off for later in the night I can almost guarantee you will leave it for the next day and then you end up leaving important items behind. The old saying that preparation is the key to success is not in vain! I get home, refill my water bottle, empty and clean Tupperware’s and start prepping my meals again. Quick and simple
while dinner is on the go right? Once you can put your feet up you will feel so accomplished which further deepens your desire and ability to achieve.

Start first thing in the morning.

I know this isn’t something we want to hear, but as a trainer and 9 to 5’er I find the only way I can ensure I fit in my session is setting that early alarm. Before clients need me, before my shop needs me and before I can talk myself out of it. Even 20 minutes a day will take you closer to your goals so do it before your brain can even realize what is happening!

Please let me know if any of these tips help! And comment below any extra tips you want to share with us to find control in the chaos of this time of year. We are all in this together and every ounce of support means the world to someone on this path.

Keep at it lovelies
