Let's talk accountability
If you have ever started to diet and train without any real guidance and support then you'll understand. It's easy to fall off the wagon then blame and hate on yourself for your lack of success.
Change is so hard, and yet so many of us try to tackle this alone.
Did you know 98% of self-directed plans fail? Yes that many! Why? Because it is easy to say no to yourself, to give up on yourself. Easy to tell yourself that you aren’t good enough to do this alone.
When you have the necessary support available, that accountability is a person. A person waiting to hear from you about how your program is going. Find out how you are feeling - this creates great results!
That is the difference.
That someone is looking out for your greater good. They want you to get results, that is why you are paying them! And yes of course if looks good on their social media too, but these coaches will give you what you need to succeed. They make the space for you to let go of your self-sabotaging habits! I know we all have those tendencies in us to self-sabotage and it really isn’t worth our health to be in that space.
There are many platforms available for this, if you do not have the money for a coach then here are a few things you can do:
- Join a newsletter – it feels great to receive info from one or two sources every week and reminds you to stay on track (how about clicking to join this weekly blog post!)
- Find a local running or cycling team- that will keep you accountable for training. Even finding a local gym class and making friends there who you can connect with and train with will keep you accountable
- WhatsApp group -with your fit friends, to message them when you need help and support.
Coaches, like myself, are available everywhere so never be afraid of reaching out to us or finding other people to support you on your journey!
